Warren County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Graham Hosch, who rushed for 145 yards on only 15 carries. Hosch's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 122 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Andrews, who picked up 90 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Warren County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 199 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.
Warren County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Amir Gamble and Cameron Giddings. Mekhi Chavis was another major factor on D, making eight total tackles (6.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Carteret). They blew past Gates County 61-18 on Friday.
Warren County better keep an eye on Luke McIntosh. He was instrumental in East Carteret's win, rushing for 44 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 224 yards and a pair of TDs. Their leading receiver Jackson Greene was McIntosh's top target yet again, picking up 136 receiving yards and one score.
One reason for the win was East Carteret's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Myles Shelton and Isaiah Payton, who racked up five sacks between them. Shelton also rushed for 136 rushing yards, which is notable because East Carteret is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 3-5 otherwise.
East Carteret now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Warren County, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
