Cookeville had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Upperman Bees by a score of 6-1. Winning may never get old, but the Cavaliers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row dating back to last season.
Ella Dudney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kadie Presley was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Breanna Green, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
Upperman's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Looking ahead, Cookeville will face off against Clay County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Upperman, they will square off against Macon County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
