Despite the final result, he rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 55 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Jackson Risley did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 88 receiving yards.
Jace Wunderlich continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central, rushing for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 219 yards and six touchdowns. Wunderlich was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Miles Easley also helped out with an impressive 88 receiving yards.
South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven]'s loss dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Central, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven] will take on Herington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Herington is ranked 49th, while South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven] is ranked 21st). As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Goessel at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
