The Andrew Jackson Volunteers came tearing into Friday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 72-54 victory over North Central. Given Andrew Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Knights are ranked 164th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ghaleb Wilson was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Clyburn, who scored 17 points.
Despite the loss, North Central still got an impressive performance from Dylan Smith, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. Smith is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games he's played.
Andrew Jackson pushed their record up to 20-3 with that win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for North Central, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.
Andrew Jackson will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Eagles at 8:00 p.m. As for North Central, they will head out on the road to face off against the Golden Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chesterfield is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
