Softball Recap: Rancho Bernardo Comes Up Short

Rancho Bernardo had taken La Costa Canyon down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. Rancho Bernardo fell just short of La Costa Canyon by a score of 3-2. The Broncos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mavericks from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Rancho Bernardo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellery Housand, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Housand is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Rancho Bernardo and nudges their season record down to 3-5-1. As for La Costa Canyon, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3.

Rancho Bernardo didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-1 win against Mission Vista on the 25th. As for La Costa Canyon, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Granite Hills on the 22nd.
