Anders continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kade Broz, who put up four points in addition to eight boards, six assists, and five steals.
Maywood/Hayes Center smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 22 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Paxton against Leyton on Thursday as the team secured a 64-35 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 23 points or more this season.
Maywood/Hayes Center better focus on containing Maddex Mcconnell and Tanner Hebblethwaite as the pair were huge in Paxton's win. Mcconnell went 8 of 11 on his way to 16 points and three steals, while Hebblethwaite dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristen Hebblethwaite, who had six points and four steals.
Paxton's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31 points. As for Maywood/Hayes Center, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Maywood/Hayes Center has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Paxton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
