AAA District 16 recap November 13, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in AAA District 16 this week, Memphis East beat Millington Central 19-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Memphis Central scaled the state rankings by moving to 69 from 96 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warriors climbed the ranks as a result of topping Brighton 54-48.
6-foot-2 quarterback Cedrick Wilson Jr. of White Station is the league leader in passing yards this season with 729. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Terreyo Nailor. The Memphis East star has 15 catches for 167 yards.
DeVante Turner of the Memphis East is just 97 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 138 carries Turner has accumulated 903 yard this year.
The Spartans are currently in fifth, while Whitehaven is in first.
White Station took down Houston 38-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
