Despite the defeat, Erie First Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Avery Collins scored 29 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 60.4% of Erie First Christian Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeovaun Taylor, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Fairview came up short against Girard on Friday and fell 49-36. While losing is never fun, Fairview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Girard is ranked 65th).
Erie First Christian Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-10. As for Fairview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
