On Tuesday, things could have been worse for Erie First Christian Academy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-48 loss to Seneca. Erie First Christian Academy has not had much luck with Seneca recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Erie First Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Avery Collins scored 29 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 60.4% of Erie First Christian Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeovaun Taylor, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Fairview came up short against Girard on Friday and fell 49-36. While losing is never fun, Fairview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Girard is ranked 65th).
Erie First Christian Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-10. As for Fairview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.
Erie First Christian Academy came up short against Fairview in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 52-44. Can Erie First Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
