Basketball Recap: Regents Piles Up the Points Against Blue Ridge Christian

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Regents on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Blue Ridge Christian Bears out of the water with a 53-20 final score. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.

Regents' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Shonka, who went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That's the most boards Shonka has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tucker Jamison, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 10 points and five rebounds.

Regents smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Regents pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Blue Ridge Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Looking ahead, Regents will venture away from home to take on Grace Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Regents is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.2 points per game this season. Blue Ridge Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
