Basketball Recap: Fillipa Lennegren's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Firestone over Richmond Heights

If Firestone was riding high fresh off their 63-43 takedown of North last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Firestone Falcons came up short against the Richmond Heights Spartans on Saturday, falling 56-34. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-12.

Firestone lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Fillipa Lennegren, who posted eight points. That's the most points Lennegren has posted since back in December of 2024. Kennedy Whiting was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Firestone's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Richmond Heights, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Firestone will challenge Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Washington is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.6 points per game this season. As for Richmond Heights, they will square off against Chagrin Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Richmond Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Chagrin Falls likes a good challenge.
