 St. Joseph Catholic relied on the efforts of   Ryan Millhollon, who  went 7 for 17 en route to 15 points plus eight  rebounds and two  steals, and   Leah Hurley, who  went 5 for 11 en route to 10 points plus eight  steals. Hurley is  on a roll when it comes to  steals, as she's  now  grabbed two or more in the last four games she's  played dating back to last season.  Sophie Barajas was another key player,  posting seven points plus eight  rebounds and four  steals.
 Meanwhile, New Waverly beat Willis 48-36  on Friday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Bulldogs.
 St. Joseph Catholic strolled past New Waverly in their previous matchup  back in November of 2023 by a score of  55-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Joseph Catholic since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
