The Heath Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Portsmouth West Senators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heath is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Heath can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by Johnstown-Monroe at home to the tune of 54-21. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Heath just coasted through the last quarter.
Brayden Bayles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 183 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries, while also throwing for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Bayles was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. Joe Ward made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Portsmouth West unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 35-7 loss at the hands of Wheelersburg. Having soared to a lofty 49 points in the game before, Portsmouth West couldn't push the score so high this time.
The losing side was boosted by Mason Parker, who rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown.
With Heath's victory and Portsmouth West's defeat, both teams now sport identical 8-2 records.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Heath has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 240.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Portsmouth West struggles in that department as they've been even better at 279.1 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
