After losing to Luling the last time they met, Goliad decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Cy Henke was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Goliad's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't).

Goliad is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Luling, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Goliad didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Nixon-Smiley on the 4th. As for Luling, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 7-5 win against Stockdale on the 4th.
