Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gatewood). They blew past the Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lancers 12-0 on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Gators as they're now sitting on five straight.

The team relied heavily on Mikaela Angel, who went a perfect 3-for-3 while logging 4 RBI, 3 runs, and 1 stolen base. Lara Pierce was another key player, going 2-for-3 while posting 3 RBI, 1 stolen base, and 1 run.

Gatewood kept the fielders on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the best they've done in that category all season.

Gatewood's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road this season, having lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That leaves them at a 0-5 record this season.

Gatewood will head out to square off against Johnson County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Central Fellowship Christian Academy, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against John Milledge Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
