The Lawrence Upper Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 50-10 loss at the hands of St. Martin de Porres. Lawrence Upper lost against St. Martin de Porres in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 76-36 score last time.
Kasandra Colon-Cintron was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for she. Another player making a difference was Lyric Johnson, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Lawrence Upper bumped their record down to 1-3 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. Martin de Porres, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence Upper will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Ridge Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for St. Martin de Porres, they will play host again and welcome Horizon Science Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Horizon Science Academy is ranked 644th, while St. Martin de Porres is ranked 623rd).
