The Kouts Mustangs & Fillies will face off against the Tri-Township Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Kouts is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Kouts got the win against Westville by a conclusive 13-3. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs & Fillies in their matchups with the Blackhawks: they've now won five in a row.
Landon Garrett was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Finney, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Eli Harper was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Kouts was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westville only posted a batting average of .211.
Meanwhile, Tri-Township came up short against Michigan City on Thursday, falling 15-4. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Dillon Stewart made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Hector Osornio, who earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.
Kouts pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-Township, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Tri-Township's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kouts hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. It's a different story for Tri-Township, though, as they've only averaged .212. Will they be able to contain Kouts' hitters?
