Philip Simmons put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Wando Warriors by a score of 60-52. The Iron Horses have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.
Dylan Morris was a one-man wrecking crew as he went 7-for-13 from beyond the arc to rack up 27 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Johnson, who posted seven points and six boards.
Philip Simmons was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wando only racked up nine.
Connor Corrigan and Sully Templeton certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Corrigan shot 53% from the field on his way to 17 points and five rebounds, while Templeton went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points and seven boards. Templeton is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Jahmari Malone was another key player, shooting 42% from the field to rack up 10 points.
Philip Simmons' record now sits at 3-0. As for Wando, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Coming up, Philip Simmons will take on Bishop England at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wando, they will square off against Carolina Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
