Canton is 1-9 against Dakota Valley since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Canton C-Hawks' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Dakota Valley Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Canton got the win against Garretson by a conclusive 57-32.
Meanwhile, Dakota Valley earned a 59-52 victory over Beresford on Tuesday. The win was just what Dakota Valley needed coming off of a 63-38 loss in their prior matchup.
Dakota Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ella Otten out in front who scored 16 points along with six assists and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Otten has scored at least 25% of Dakota Valley's points. Sophie Tuttle was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Canton's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Dakota Valley, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-2.
Canton skirted past Dakota Valley 60-57 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
