Basketball Game Preview: Northview Titans vs. North Forsyth Raiders

Northview hasn't had much luck against North Forsyth recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Both will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

North Forsyth is hoping to do what North Springs couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Northview's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Northview took their game with ease, bagging a 66-27 win over North Springs. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-12.

Northview's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kyndal Hardaway, who went 10 for 19 on her way to 21 points and five rebounds, and Tamariana Bivins, who went 7 of 11 on her way to 15 points and seven steals. Bivins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelly Reynolds, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points.

Northview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, North Forsyth put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past South Forsyth, posting a 70-36 victory. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the War Eagles are ranked 72nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Forsyth's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for Northview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Northview took a serious blow against North Forsyth when the teams last played back in November of 2019, falling 102-10. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Northview was down 44-5.
