Minico is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Emmett on Saturday as Minico made off with an 11-3 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Spartans needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Dominic Garza was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jalyx Guzman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Minico was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Vallivue put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against Jerome. The six-run effort marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Colt Augustus was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Daniel, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Baren Vadapalli also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
With the victory, Minico broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4. As for Vallivue, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
