There's no place like home for Rocky Bayou Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Laurel Hill Hoboes on Thursday as the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights made off with a 9-2 win. Considering the Knights have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Audra Morgan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Morgan was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Skyler Dill-Langley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Bailey Nance was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Rocky Bayou Christian now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Laurel Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Rocky Bayou Christian and L.E.A.D. Academy will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 4:00 p.m. on March 24th. Laurel Hill will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while.
