Paxton is 10-0 against Maxwell since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Paxton Tigers will face off against the Maxwell Wildcats at 11:30 a.m. Paxton is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
Paxton scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 75-38 victory over Wauneta-Palisade. Paxton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.
Paxton found their leader in underclassman Maddex McConnell, who scored 18 points along with three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McConnell has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Josh Eakins, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Maxwell came up short against Sandhills Valley on Thursday and fell 58-49.
Paxton's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Maxwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
Everything came up roses for Paxton against Maxwell when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 49-22 win. Will Paxton repeat their success, or does Maxwell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
