Winning always takes teamwork, but on Tuesday Nikko Willis stepped things up a notch to give Mounds the 'W'. Willis wasn't messing around, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). The pitching appearance was his fifth straight with two or fewer walks.

Coming up, Willis and Mounds will be playing in front of their home fans against Porter at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Eagles got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Pirates thanks in part to Willis: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched.
