Williams Valley has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They and the Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Red Raiders will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Williams Valley came up short against the Battlin' Miners and fell 65-53. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Williams Valley in their matchups with the Battlin' Miners: they've now lost four in a row.
Meanwhile, Our Lady of Lourdes Regional's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. The matchup between them and Schuylkill Haven wasn't particularly close, with Our Lady of Lourdes Regional falling 55-37. While losing is never fun, Our Lady of Lourdes Regional can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 536th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 151st).
Williams Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Williams Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Red Raiders in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 51-46 victory. Will Williams Valley repeat their success, or do the Red Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
