Softball Recap: Loudoun Valley Wins Going Away Against Dominion

Loudoun Valley's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Dominion Titans. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Hailey White and Maia Valenti made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, White tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Valenti pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. White has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, White went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Valenti got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave White a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kayla Dunkerley and Anna Ramos did most of the damage at the plate: Dunkerley went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Ramos went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Ramos a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlie Reich, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Loudoun Valley's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Dominion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

Coming up, Dominion will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Liberty at 6:30 p.m. Loudoun Valley will be paying especially close attention to the Titans' match: after the Titans face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Loudoun Valley again at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
