The Ainsworth Bulldogs's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 65-50 win over McCook. This was payback for Ainsworth, who suffered a 60-56 loss the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Trey Appelt, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 15 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Traegan McNally, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Ainsworth's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for McCook, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ainsworth will take on McCook at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for McCook, they will be playing at home against Ogallala at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ogallala presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than McCook in Nebraska (Ogallala is ranked fourth, while McCook is ranked 105th).
