Baseball Recap: Kingsford Wins Going Away Against Menominee

Kingsford never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Menominee Maroons 12-0. The win continues a trend for the Flivvers in their matchups with the Maroons: they've now won four in a row.

Garrett Brown was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kingsford got a massive performance out of Andres Finley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Nolan Hendrickson, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Kingsford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kingsford's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Menominee, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kingsford will head out to challenge Iron Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Menominee, they will challenge Gladstone at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
