The McCormick Chiefs and the Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (McCormick is ranked 207th, while the Blue Flashes are ranked 218th).
McCormick unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 78-25 defeat at the hands of Silver Bluff. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points McCormick has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Calhoun Falls Charter strolled past the Hornets with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 41-23.
Autumn Thomas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Sanders, who scored three points along with 19 rebounds and five blocks.
McCormick's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-7. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.
McCormick beat the Blue Flashes 47-35 when the teams last played on Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for McCormick since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
