Baseball Recap: Grainger Comes Up Short

Grainger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cherokee Chiefs. Even though they lost, the Grizzlies' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Carver Turley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Connor May was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-5.

Grainger's record now sits at 3-9. As for Cherokee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.

While Grainger had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
