Softball Recap: Sherman Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sherman waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the St. Joseph Central Irish with a sharp 16-2 victory. The Tide might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Sherman got a massive performance out of Carter Plantz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Plantz has posted since back in March of 2024. Lexie Lowe was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Plantz wasn't the only one making solid contact: Sherman kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. The Tide are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Sherman's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for St. Joseph Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sherman will challenge Midland Trail at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Joseph Central, they will be playing at home against Tolsia at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something the Irish will no doubt try to take advantage of.
