The Coahoma County Red Panthers entered their tilt with the Palmer Dragons with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Coahoma County snuck past Palmer with a 46-41 win on Tuesday. Given Coahoma County's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Palmer is ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Coahoma County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Harlem Bell out in front who scored 11 points. Jerasmus Eagins was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Coahoma County pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.5 points per game. As for Palmer, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coahoma County will take on Greenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Palmer, they will head out on the road to face off against Leflore County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
