The Hilliard Bradley Jaguars are taking a road trip to challenge the Lincoln Lions at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hilliard Bradley will be strutting in after a victory while Lincoln will be coming in after a loss.
Hilliard Bradley can't be too worried about heading out to take on Lincoln: they just beat Mt. Vernon at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Jaguars skirted past the Yellowjackets 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Jaguars sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jonathan Ritch made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Nick Barkhimer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Hilliard Bradley is undefeated when Barkhimer posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Vince Navarro, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Hilliard Bradley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Vernon only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lincoln duked it out with Pickerington North on Friday. The Lions came up short against the Panthers, falling 16-6. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Trent Bowman put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only four walks, the fewest he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Bowman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cade Lawrence, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Hilliard Bradley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-12. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
