The McClave Cardinals won the last time they faced the Springfield Longhorns, and things went their way on Friday too. McClave took their game at home with ease, bagging a 44-8 win over Springfield. With McClave ahead 38-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
McClave was led to victory by Ethan Bronniman and Gavin Tempel. Bronniman threw for 234 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, while Tempel gained 172 total yards and three touchdowns. Tuff Kelley was another key contributor, picking up 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
This is the second loss in a row for McClave and nudges their season record down to 6-2. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-2 McClave and 6-2 McClave. As for Springfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-5.
McClave does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Springfield also has no future games currently scheduled.
