The Blue Valley Rams had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Wakefield on Tuesday as Blue Valley made off with a 53-33 victory. For Blue Valley, this counts as revenge for the 58-55 loss Wakefield walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Paige Smith and Allison Adams certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Smith scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals, while Adams scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Smith scored a full 54.5% of Wakefield's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Blue Valley's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Wakefield, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Blue Valley will be playing at home against Pike Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pike Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Tuesday. As for Wakefield, they will head out on the road to face off against Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
