On Tuesday, the Herriman Mustangs faced the Bingham Miners in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Herriman walked away with a 74-64 win over Bingham. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Herriman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ike Palmer out in front who scored 31 points. Palmer continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Cale Barclay was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five steals.
Herriman pushed their record up to 13-4 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bingham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.
Herriman will be playing in front of their home fans against Copper Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Copper Hills is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Bingham, they will head out on the road to square off against Corner Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corner Canyon will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
