The Ripon Indians came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 76-69 win over Hughson. Given Ripon's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Huskies are ranked 905th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ripon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Madoski, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Madoski has scored all season. Logan Lefebvre was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Ripon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. As for Hughson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.
Ripon will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hughson, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
