Breana Saunders Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Millennium's Breana Saunders, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Saunders threw for 198 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 50 yards.
Millennium pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Tigers takes on Desert Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mountain Pointe pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Moreno and Mountain Pointe will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on October 14th.

Jackie Jimenez was a major factor in Desert Vista's victory over Boulder Creek on Thursday. Jimenez turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 83 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, while also throwing for 165 yards and a touchdown.
Desert Vista now has a winning record of 3-2. Jimenez and Desert Vista will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sunnyside at 6:00 p.m. on October 17th.

Malaysia Roebuck Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Thursday, Marana got the W thanks in part to Malaysia Roebuck playing the best football she has all season. Roebuck picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns. She also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.
If the past is any indication, Roebuck could be in store for another big game when she takes on Basha on Wednesday. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Roebuck saw the Bears), she picked up 150 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Ella Joplin's big game helped extend Marana's winning streak to five on Thursday. Valley Vista had no answer to Joplin as she threw for 305 yards and four touchdowns.
On the year, Joplin has thrown 8 touchdowns while averaging 252.3 passing yards per game.
