The Gering Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They managed a 78-74 victory over Chadron. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kelsey Brady was the offensive standout of the game as she scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacey Cochran, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Chadron still got an impressive performance from Demi Ferguson, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Taverra Sayaloune, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Gering's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Chadron, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Gering won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Red Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on January 26th. Sidney is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
