Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Bayside

While Bayside's win against Salem wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Marlins had just enough and edged out the Sundevils 10-9 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Marlins sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Kayleigh Leeland-Powell and Paityn Robinson did most of the damage at the plate: Leeland-Powell went 3-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base, while Robinson went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits Leeland-Powell has posted since back in March. Madison Matthews was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Bayside hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Bayside's record is now 8-9. As for Salem, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

Coming up, Bayside will venture away from home to square off against Great Bridge at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Salem, they will host First Colonial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
