The Pleasant View Christian Warriors struggled with assists on Thursday (South Haven Christian had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Pleasant View Christian fell 43-32 to South Haven Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pleasant View Christian in their matchups with South Haven Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Pleasant View Christian saw an underclassman step up: Gwen Carr scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Haven Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aliya Gagliano, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Gagliano has scored at least a third of South Haven Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Kaleigh Starnes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds.
Pleasant View Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for South Haven Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasant View Christian will challenge Varsity Opponent at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for South Haven Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Franklin Road Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
