John Farris was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Western Hills is undefeated when Farris allows one or fewer hits, but 2-5 otherwise. Farris was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.
In other batting news, Robert Casey was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. Myles Pittman was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
