Burney's J.J. Villarruel recorded the longest rushing play in Shasta Cascade this season in his game against Portola last week. Villarruel's team lost to the Tigers as he sprinted for 63 yards on the play and finished with 175 in all.
Weed moved up to 821 from 941 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of besting Bonanza 46-0.
Michael Gallagher and Villarruel gave Burney a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Gallagher also contributed to the rushing game with 93 yards on the ground.

Villarruel provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Raiders fell to Portola. Villarruel's favorite target this week was Caleb Frazier, who caught 2 passes for 50 yards.

Villarruel was the best running back in the league this week.
Tyler Ewing was the best wideout in Shasta Cascade this week as Modoc fell to Lakeview/Paisley. Ewing tallied 3 receptions for 77 yards.
The Braves' Alan Webber and Ewing have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Webber has thrown for 166 yards this season, while Ewing has 5 catches for 111 yards. Weed's Rashaan Broomfield leads the league in rushing yards with 254.
Byron Mathes' team took down the Antlers 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Broomfield ran for 154 yards in the win.
