The Cottage Hill Christian Academy Warriors waltzed into Thursday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 62-52 win over Foley. Given Cottage Hill Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while Foley is ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Cottage Hill Christian Academy to victory were Clay Scofield and Caleb Metzner. Scofield scored 21 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists, while Metzner scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Scofield has scored at least 25% of Cottage Hill Christian Academy's points. Shadarius Toodle was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaden Adams, who scored 14 points along with 4 steals. Adams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Lewanski, who scored 15 points.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Foley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Cottage Hill Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against UMS-Wright Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Foley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Robertsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Robertsdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
