The Windthorst Trojans kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 45-36 to Childress.
Childress found their leader in underclassman Emma Jalomo, who scored 14 points along with 6 steals. Jalomo hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarissa Gamboa, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
Windthorst's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Childress, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Windthorst will head out on the road to face off against Jacksboro at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Childress, they will face off against Jayton at 12:42 p.m. on Tuesday. Jayton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
