If the Freeport Red Devils were feeling good off their 65-41 takedown of the Oceanside Sailors last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Freeport took a 72-57 bruising from Farmingdale on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Freeport in their matchups with Farmingdale: they've now lost seven in a row.
Defeat or not, Freeport got some senior leadership from Latrell Tucker and Elijah Darby. Tucker dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Darby. scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tucker has scored all season.
Freeport's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Farmingdale, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Freeport will head out on the road to face off against Massapequa at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Farmingdale will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Academy Charter at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th.
