The Triangle Math & Science Tigers will square off against the NCSSM: Durham Unicorns at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Triangle Math & Science is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
While Triangle Math & Science's victory against Falls Lake wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Firebirds on Friday.
Triangle Math & Science wouldn't go down easily and took Falls Lake into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 21-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Triangle Math & Science can attribute much of their success to Sauraj Hariprathap, who had three aces and one block, and Chris Lange, who had 17 digs and eight kills. What's more, Hariprathap posted two digs, the most he's had since back in March.
They weren't the only good server: Triangle Math & Science was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 13 consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, NCSSM: Durham didn't have quite enough to beat Enloe on Monday and fell 3-2.
NCSSM: Durham took Enloe into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 15-11.
NCSSM: Durham's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Triangle Math & Science, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Triangle Math & Science skirted past NCSSM: Durham 3-2 in their previous meeting on April 9th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
