Volleyball Recap: Velva's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Velva entered their tilt with Lewis & Clark [Berthold/Our Redeemer's Christian/North Shore] on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bombers 3-0. The Aggies were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Bombers, so the Aggies were just returning the favor.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Velva took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-10, 25-15.

Velva can attribute much of their success to Braleigh Anhorn, who had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces Anhorn has posted over her last six contests.

Anhorn wasn't the only good server: Velva was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Velva's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Lewis & Clark [Berthold/Our Redeemer's Christian/North Shore], they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Velva will head out to square off against Berthold at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The game will give the Aggies their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Lewis & Clark [Berthold/Our Redeemer's Christian/North Shore], they will be playing in front of their home fans against Trenton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
