The Brother Rice Crusaders are taking a road trip to  take on the Trinity Shamrocks  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the  match red-hot, with Brother Rice sitting on  three straight  victories and Trinity on five.
Brother Rice took a ten-run  loss the last time they faced off against Lincoln-Way Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crusaders had just enough and edged out the Knights  8-7 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Crusaders have posted  since May 16, 2024.

 At the plate,  Brady Cunningham was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. Those  three  runs gave  him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aidan Nohava, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 Brother Rice was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .370 or higher in three consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile, while Trinity put up plenty of  runs on Tuesday, the same  can't be said for Hilliard Davidson. The Shamrocks blew past the Wildcats 11-0. The Shamrocks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven  runs or more this season.
 Trinity pushed their record up to 11-1 with the  victory, which was their 23rd straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Brother Rice, their record now sits at 4-1.
 Brother Rice couldn't quite get it done against Trinity in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024 as they fell  7-4. Can the Crusaders avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
