Basketball Recap: Ellinwood Skates Past Ell-Saline with Ease

Ellinwood put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 67-30 win over the Ell-Saline Cardinals. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 30 points or more this season.

Ellinwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Reece Stickney out in front who posted 18 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. Stickney's morning made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alyvia Batchman, who went 7 for 8 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Ellinwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Ellinwood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Ell-Saline, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Ellinwood will look to defend their home court on Friday against Ellis. Ellinwood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season. As for Ell-Saline, they will head out to take on Berean Academy on Friday. Berean Academy's defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so Ell-Saline's offense will have their work cut out for them.
