The Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions were the 64-38 winner over the Canyon del Oro Dorados when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy took a 53-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canyon del Oro on Thursday.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ben Lambe, who scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Lambe is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now blocked two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah McKinney, who scored 9 points.
Even though they lost, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon del Oro only pulled down five.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canyon del Oro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Dixion, who scored 23 points. The match was Dixion's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Gill, who scored 10 points along with 3 steals.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Canyon del Oro, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Glendale Prep Academy at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Canyon del Oro, they will head out on the road to face off against American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in American Leadership Academy - Gilbert North's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
